Bookkeeper, secretary shot dead in Laguna

A bookkeeper and a secretary died when the car they were riding were peppered with bullets by two riding-in-tandem (RIT) gunmen while traversing in Ramos Banos Subdivision, Bgy. Lalakay, Los Baños, Laguna, on Thursday afternoon.

Supt. Alex Fronda de Los Santos, Los Baños police chief, identified the fatalities as Crispina Mendoza, 55, and Wilma Aguinaldo, 60, both residents of Bgy. Banadero, Calamba City.

Both victims sustained gunshot wounds in their bodies and died two hours after being rushed to Healthserve Medical Center in Los Baños town. Police said, one of the victims was a doctorate holder working in UP Los Baños.

Meanwhile, two unidentified armed suspects wearing helmets escaped on foot after the motorcycle they were riding fell down after it was accidentally bumped by the victim’s car after the shooting.

Investigation conducted by Los Baños police revealed that the shooting incident transpired at about 5:15 p.m. when the victims on board a Toyota Corrolla (WDV 384) after they attended a meeting.

Reports said that the car was traversing along Sitio Libis, Ramos Subd. towards Bgy. Lalakay when one of the suspects fired repeatedly on the car.
Police recovered at the crime scene a fired cartridge case for cal. .45 gun.
An investigation is still  being conducted by the Los Baños police for the possible identification of the suspects who are still at large as of press time.
