Biñan DEU nets 8 drug suspects

THE Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) nabbed eight suspected drug personalities in anti-illegal drug operation in Bgy. Canlalay, Biñan City, Laguna, on Sunday.

A report submitted to acting Police Regional Police 4-A director Chief Supt. Edward Carranza by Senior Supt. Kirby John Brion Kraft identified the suspects as Mark Anthony Borbon Vertus, alias Urok, 27, Donalyn Basbas Belen, alias Bobot, 18, Tayubal Aragon, alias Sunday, 34, Boboy Cariaga Flores, alias Boy, 44, Juan Brabante Bautista, alias Jun, 52, Davan Cariaga, alias Mike, 44, Christian Palad Gordo, alias Chris, 31, Christopher Darwin Fernandez Barlebs, alias Toper, 39, all residents of Biñan City.

The operation was conducted by Biñan police led by Senior Insp. Fernando Credo, under the supervision of Supt. Ronan Claravall, Biñan City police chief. One of his men, who acted as poseur-buyer, as able to buy a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu from Borbon Vertus.

While the transaction was ongoing, the poseur-buyer caught seven suspects in the act of sniffing shabu at a pot session.

A bodily search was conducted that led to the confiscation of a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, a marked P500, P1,500 from Borbon Vertus while seven plastic sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia were confiscated from the seven suspects.

The suspects and the pieces of evidence with the total weight of approximately two grams with an estimated street value of P10,000 were brought to RCLO RO 4A for drug test and laboratory examination.

The suspects were placed under the custody of Biñan City police while cases for violation of Sections 5, 11, 12 and 26(b) of Art. II of RA 9165 are being prepared for filing against them before the City Prosecutor’s Office in Biñan City.
