A medical officer of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighter (BIFF) and his companion were killed in an encounter with government forces the other day in Ma-guindanao.
Army’s 6th Infantry Division (ID) spokesman Capt. Arvin Encinas identified the slain suspect as Raul Angkay, alias Dok, 46, BIFF medical officer, and Edz Angkay Dalendang, 45, BIFF member.
Reports said the suspects were killed in an encounter with members of Army’s 601st Infantry Brigade, 603rd IB and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) at around 9:35 p.m. in Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao.
Encinas said Angkay is one of the most wanted personalities included in the arrest order number 2 signed by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana for violation of Article 134 or rebellion in line with the implementation of martial law in the whole area of Min-danao due to the Marawi crisis that erupted on May 23, 2017.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession were a caliber .45 pistol and a fragmentation grenade.
