Benguet rape suspect nabbed in Calamba

CAMP Gen. Miguel Malvar, Batangas -- A 22-year-old rape suspect was nabbed by joint operatives in Bgy. Mayapa, Calamba City, provincial police PIO chief Senior Insp. Hazel P. Luma-ang Suarez said the other day.

A report to Batangas police director Senior Supt. Edwin A. Quilates by police chief Supt. Renato Cantos Mercado identified the suspect who is tagged no. 3 most wanted person provincial level in Benguet province as John Michael Ignacio, single, native of Calamba City and a resident of St. Lawrence Apt., Bgy Mayapa.

Quilates said that at around 7:25 a.m., joint elements of the Tanauan City Police Station led by Chief Insp. Philip Toquero Aguilar, Bokod and Buguias MPS of Benguet Provincial Police Office (PPO) led by Senior Insp. James Backian Ruadap and PO2 Mark B. Mendoza, respectively, conducted an operation against the wanted person that resulted in his arrest under criminal case number 1486-CR-17 issued by Judge Sergio T. Angnganay Jr., of the Regional Trial Court Branch 64 of Abatan Burguias, Benguet, dated Nov. 15, 2017.

Quilates said the case transpired on April 2017 in Bgy. Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet wherein the complainant filed rape charges against the suspect.

No bail was recommended for the suspect who was placed under the custody of the Calamba CPS.
