Batangas trader gunned down

A 41-YEAR-OLD businessman was shot dead by unidentified assailants while sitting inside his vehicle in Sitio Boundary, Bgy. 2, Mataas Na Kahoy, Batangas, the other night.

The victim, Reginald Magno Limbo, of 96 Salazar St., Candelaria, Quezon, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital due to several gunshot wounds he sustained from the hands of the unidentified suspects, said town police chief Senior Insp. John Conrad A. Villanueva.

A concerned citizen informed the Mataas Na Kahoy Police Station about the shooting incident.

Acting on the report, police patrol members responded and conducted an investigation at the scene.

Det. PO1 Ivan Jever B. Tiquio, officer-on-case, disclosed that the victim was sitting inside a white Toyota Van (ZPU 611) at around 8:15 p.m. when the unidentified suspects suddenly appeared from behind and shot the victim at point blank range.
The suspects fled after the incident.
The victim was rushed to Metro San Jose Medical Center in San Jose, Batangas, where he was declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dra. Claire Aquino.
The Mataas na Kahoy police requested for the activation of “Oplan Kalasag” and sought assistance from the Batangas Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) for technical investigation at the crime scene.
Police recovered nine empty shell casings for cal. .9mm at the crime scene.
