Batangas murder suspect collared in La Union

LEMERY, Batangas -- A 47-year-old village watchman charged with murder was nabbed by joint operatives in Bgy. Magallanes, Luna, La Union, on Wednesday, police reported yesterday.

Lemery Municipal Police Station commander Chief Insp. Alfie M. Salang said the suspect, identified as Sixto Tolentino Villanueva, married, a barangay tanod, a native of San Isidro, Itaas, Lemery town and presently residing in Bgy. Magallanes, has evaded the law for about eight years.

Salang said that at around 8 p.m. on Sept. 26, 2018, joint operatives of the Lemery MPS led by SPO3 Roman A. Humarang and personnel of Luna MPS arrested the accused by virtue of a warrant for murder under Criminal Case. Nos. 39-2009 issued by late Judge Eutiquio L. Quitain of the Regional Trial Court Branch 5 of Region IV, Lemery town, dated March 11, 2010, with no bail recommended.

Police said the suspect was listed no. 2 on the most wanted persons list under Manhunt Charlie of this police station.
