BALER, Aurora -- Environment and natural resources authorities here yesterday ordered the forfeiture of L-300 Mistubishi van loaded with undocumented prime forest product (narra flithes) intercepted by DENR’s Dingalan Task Force at Bgy. Butas na Bato, Dingalan.
Atty. Ricardo Lazaro, provincial environment officer, also directed DENR community officer Nicomedes Claudio to file criminal raps against the driver and his helper, identified as Rogelia Teologo Jr., 41, and Alfredo Magdaun 43, both of Bgy. Butas na Bato.
Claudio, in his report to Lazaro, said the vehicle which was apprehended by Task force CENRO, together with 1Lt. Jude Dagohoy, of the Army’s 56th Infantry Brigade Charlie Company and SPO3 John Pajardo, of Dingalan Police Station.
Claudio said Teologo and Magdaun will be charged with violation of forestry laws, rules and regulations.
If proven guilty, Claudio said the duo face imprisonment of from 20 to 30 years for the forest products and a fine for environment destruction worth P1.2 million, under Article 309 of the Revised Penal Code.
Claudio also said the suspects were inquested at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for violation of Section 68 of PD 705 and EO 28 and temporarily detained at Dingalan Police Station pending the issuance of a commitment order for final disposition.
