ASG member surrenders in Basilan

A young member of Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) surrendered to authorities to change his life and start living in peaceful way the other day in Tipo-Tipo, Basilan.

The bandit who decided to return to the folds of the law was identified as Adzmin Namang Sabala, alias Ogong, 16, married, of Bgy. Mebak, Sumisip, Basilan.
Reports said the bandit surrendered at around 2 p.m. at the municipal hall of Tipo-Tipo.
The surrender of the bandit was due to the joint effort of Tipo-Tipo Mayor  Arcam P. Istarul, Tipo-Tipo police chief Senior Insp.  Mujahid A. Asmawil and Army’s 18th Infantry Battalion chief Lt. Colonel Manuel S. Valdez IV.
Ogong also turned over his US Carbine caliber .30 to the custody of 18th IB in connection with the Balik Baril Program of the government.
