Arabic teacher shot dead

UNIDENTIFIED riding-in-tandem suspects shot dead an Arabic teacher while on his way home with his daughter Tuesday night in Zamboanga City.

The victim who died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds in the body was identified as Ibrahim Bakil Baguinda, 34, married, of Bgy. Masjid Abubakar, Talon Talon, Zamboanga City.

Reports reaching Camp Crame said the incident occurred at 10 p.m. in front of Ellyse Store in the barangay.

Investigators said the victim was driving his motorcycle with his minor daughter, identified as Nushran Baguinda as back rider, on their way home when the two unidentified suspects appeared and shot him repeatedly.

When the victim fell on the ground, one of the suspects alighted from the motorcycle and again shot him at close range.

After the incident, the suspects fled while the victim was rushed to the nearest hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The victim’s daughter was unharmed.

Recovered at the crime scene were 24 empty shells for caliber 9mm pistol.
