An investigation conducted by the Ligao City police showed that the murder case took place
along the Maharlika Highway in Bgy. Sta. Cruz, Ligao City.
Investigators said that prior to the shooting incident, PO2 Jay Pobar, a member of the

shot him in the body. While lying on the ground, the suspect fired at least two more shots on the
policeman, using a pistol before fleeing on foot. PO3 Pabit failed to return fire at the suspect
since he had no gun with him during the incident.
Other officers who rushed to the scene caught the fleeing suspect but failed to recover his
gun. The suspect was believed to have thrown the fatal weapon during his escape.
PO3 Pabit died while being taken to the hospital.
