CABANATUAN City -- An alleged notorious member of the so-called “Akyat-Bahay Gang” was arrested by members of the National Bureau of Investigation-Cabanatuan District Office during a buy-bust operation here last Friday.

Nabbed was Joel Calacsan, 30, alias Tokong, tricycle driver, of Bgy. San Josef Norte, this city.

NBI-CabDO head Pedro C. Roque Jr. said the suspect was nabbed following a buy-bust operation conducted by special investigator Rolan Fernandez and special agent Philip Pecache at the Freedom Park in Burgos Avenue, at 8 a.m.

Seized from the suspect were a plastic sachet containing 0.09 gram of shabu and the P500 marked money used in the operation.

Prior to the operation, Roque said his office got information from his confidential agent about the rampant illegal drugs trade perpetrated by the suspect in the said area.

Roque said a buy-bust operation was immediately hatched against the suspect, who was contacted by his men to deliver the drugs at said place.

During interrogation, Roque said the suspect also admitted being a notorious “Akyat-Bahay” member involved in several burglary incidents in subdivisions and schools in the city.

The suspect, who was tested positive for the use of shabu and marijuana, allegedly said he just recently robbed an elementary school in the city.

“Nagnanakaw siya para may ipangtustos sa bisyo at sa droga,” said Roque.
