4 kidnappers arrested in Jolo

FOUR men who kidnapped a 7-year-old girl in Jolo, Sulu on All Saints’ Day were arrested by the local police during an entrapment, Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Police Regional Office director Chief Superintendent Graciano J. Mijares announced yesterday.

Suspects Alin Titon, 28; Kimar Abduralik, 28; Adjidi Andul, 51; and a 16-year-old male teenager were nabbed in a sting conducted at the Jolo Port in Bgy. Walled City around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Mijares said the four  were identified as the men who abducted a young girl from Barangay Gimba Tandubas in Tawi-Tawi.

The entrapment was conducted by members of the 52nd Special Action Company of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force, Regional Intelligence Unit 9, the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group, the PNP Maritime Group and the Sulu Police Provincial Office.

Titong turned out to be a resident of Lower Calarian, Zamboanga City while Abdurajik and Andul are both from Indanan, Sulu while the teen suspect is a resident of Patikul, Sulu.

Mijares said the four demanded a P1 million ransom from the victim’s parents but later reduced their demand to P500,000.

During negotiations, the kidnappers agreed to an initial P500,000 ransom.

The kidnappers promised to free the victim unharmed as soon as the rest of their ransom demand is paid.

The four suspects are now detained at the Jolo police.
