4 dead in anti-drug, carnapping operations

CAMP Brig. Gen. Vicente Lim, Bgy. Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna  -- Four suspected drug pushers were killed during  anti-drug operations by Calabarzon police operatives in Rizal, Laguna and Cavite, last Monday.

Killed was Raymond Galicha, alias ‘Nonoy Balat’, of Sitio Tanglaw, Bgy. San Isidro, Antipolo City. His companion, a certain Wilfredo Castro, alias ‘Busog’, escaped.

The two were selling drugs at 9 p.m. in said place when Galicha fought up with the cops with his cal. .38 revolver. Police recovered the gun and some grams of shabu.

The San Pedro police engaged suspects Ronald Gonzales and Joseph Santos on Landa-yan Access Road in Bgy. Landayan, at 12:40 a.m. yesterday.

The two first sold a sachet containing shabu to a police poseur-buyer. The two, who were armed with  cal. .45 pistols, shot it out with the cops. They were taken to a hospital but died while being treated. The pistols and the shabu were recovered.

In Cavite, Dasma City cops killed an unidentified suspect who stole a motorcycle in the city early yesterday morning.

Police said they cornered the suspect in Bgy. Langkaan 2 at 2:30 a.m., but the suspect resisted. He opened fire with his pistol at the policemen who retaliated and killed him. A black Yamaha Mio Sporty motorcycle with white mags was recovered.
