3 marijuana pushers arrested in Quezon

LUCENA City -- Police operatives on Tuesday arrested three jobless men while selling dried marijuana
leaves during a drug buy-bust operation in Bgy. 7, here.

City police director Supt. Vicente Cabatingan identified the arrested suspects as Justine
Monterey Cerillo, alias Seth; Miketristan Orenedo Veraña, alias Tano; both of said village, and Carl
Jensen Castillo Catahan, alias CJ, of Bgy. Cotta.
Cabatingan said the suspects were in the act of handing a piece of ziplock plastic sachet
containing suspected dried marijuana leaves to a poseur-buyer when they were collared at 10:30 p.m.
by joint operatives of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and Quezon Provincial Intelligence Branch
(QPIB) under Supt. Arturo Brual Jr.
When arrested, Cabatingan said the trio also yielded a brown shoulder bag containing 21
ziplock plastic sachets containing 95.61 grams of dried marijuana leaves with Dangerous Drug Board
(DDB) value of P4,780.50 and the marked P500 bill paid by the operatives.
The arrested suspects are now detained at the custodial facility of Lucena City Police
Station and will be charged for violation of Sections 5, 11 and 26, Art. II of RA 9165
(Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
