3 killed in Maguindanao shootout

THREE armed men were killed in a shootout with law enforcers serving warrants of arrest against them the other day in Barira, Maguindanao.

Police Regional Office (RPO) Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) director  Chief Supt Graciano J. Mijares identified the fatalities as Abib Sarotsong, Acero Kibad and Todto Pangalian, both of Bgy. Liong Barira, Maguindanao.

Report reaching Camp Crame showed that the incident occurred at around 11:50 a.m. at Bgy. Gumagadong Galawag, Parang, Maguindanao.
Initial investigation showed that elements of Parang Municipal Police Station led by Supt Ibrahim H. Hambiran served warrant for murder against the suspects.
During the operation, the suspects who were onboard a motorcycle sensed the presence of policemen so they immediately fired their guns that prompted the operatives to return fire, killing the suspects instantly.
Recovered at the crime scene were two caliber .45 pistols (Colt and Armscor), 15 empty shells for 9mm pistol, nine empty shells for 5.56mm, three live ammunition for 5.56mm and three magazine assemblies with live ammunition.
The bodies of the suspects were immediately claimed by their relatives for burial according to the Muslim belief.
