3 killed, 4 hurt in Laguna mishap

Three persons, including a 17-year-old student and two drivers of the two motorcycles, were confirmed dead while four other students were injured when their vehicles collided in Bgy. Tubuan, Pila, Laguna, on Thursday night.

Senior Insp. Celso Jhune Talampas, chief of Pila Police Station, said the three fatalities were identified as John Paul Ansay, student, of Bgy. Nanhaya, Victoria, Laguna; Jeorge Dandi, 22, jeepney driver, of Bgy. Bulilan Sur, Pila; and a certain Albert Deita, 25, construction worker, of Bgy. San Francisco, Victoria.

The injured minor students were brought to Laguna Medical Center and are now in stable condition.

Investigation conducted by Pila police showed that the three slain victims died from serious body injuries.

The incident , according to PO3 Benedict Mercado, investigator, said that at about 11 p.m. Thursday, a yellow Racal Motorcycle (XS-8143) driven by Dandi with back rider Dieta collided with the red Honda Wave (4641) driven by Boy, together with other students as back riders.

Police said Dandi and Dieta are reportedly under the influence of liquor when the accident happened.

Meanwhile, police will file a case of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide, physical injuries and damage to property against Dandi and Deita, who both died.
