3 die in Cavite, Laguna anti-illegal drug ops, 4 held

CAMP Brig. Gen. Vicente Lim, Bgy. Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna -- Three drug personalities were killed in police anti-illegal drug operation on Thursday. Four others were arrested.

Members of the General Trias City police in Cavite arrested the no. 1 drug pusher, identified as Leo Sipat, of Sitio Sulukan, Bgy. Pasong Camachile 1, at 11 p.m. However, the suspect after handing 11 sachets containing shabu pulled out a cal. .357 and fired at the policemen, who returned fire, hitting him. Sipat was rushed to Gen. Trias City Hospital where he was declared dead while being treated.

Sipat’s companions Mary Grace Lugeu, 40, Jun Martils, 40, and Jhonsel Endaya, 20, all of Bgy. Pasong Camachile 1, were arrested.

In Sta. Cruz, Laguna, a drug suspect, identified only as alias ‘Kabag’, was contacting a middle man to sell  illegal drugs.

Senior Supt. Kirby John Brion Kraft, police provincial director, said ‘Kabag’ agreed for a drug deal at 2:50 a.m. but he resisted after learning that he had being set up. A second man of ‘Kabag’ managed to escape. A cal. .38 revolver and shabu were found from him.
