October 29, 2018

TWO suspected drug pushers were killed in separate shootouts during police buy-bust operations in Lucena City in Quezon Province and Biñan City in Laguna on Sunday and yesterday morning.

Quezon police director Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman identified the slain suspect as Dominador Lao Jaime, alias Ador, 26, newly-identified drug personality, of Bgy. 8, Lucena City.

De Guzman said the other suspect, Michael de la Cruz, alias Abe, was able to escape when he was about to be arrested by operatives of Lucena City Police Station under Supt. Reydante Ariza at around 8 p.m. Sunday.

Prior to the shootout, he said a policeman acting as poseur-buyer was able to buy a P1,000 worth of suspected shabu contained in a small plastic sachet from the suspects.

“When the cop was about to arrest the suspects, De la Cruz pushed him hard and quickly ran away while Jaime pulled out a pistol and opened fire,” said De Guzman.

He said this prompted the cops to fire back, killing Jaime.

Police recovered the Springfield cal. .45 pistol used by the suspect, the marked P1,000 bill, two more small plastic sachets and various drug paraphernalia from his pocket.

De la Cruz is still being pursued by the police.

In Laguna, another suspected drug pusher was killed by operatives of Drugs Enforcement Unit in armed encounter in Bgy. Canlalay, Biñan City yesterday.

Supt. Danilo Mendoza, Biñan City police chief, identified the slain suspect as Bryan Alegre, who is on the city police drug watchlist.

Around 4:40 a.m., the DEU operatives conducted a buy-bust operation against the suspect where the encounter transpired.

The suspect noticed that he was transacting with a police poseur-buyer and immediately drew his caliber 9mm pistol and fired at the lawmen, who was forced to return fire, killing him.

The lawmen recovered transparent suspected shabu, the buy-bust money and the cal. 9mm pistol with magazine with three live bullets and two 9mm pistols.
