TWO supporters of the slain Ozamis City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog were arrested while at least 10
kilos of shabu and several firearms were recovered by authorities when they simultaneously implemented
search warrants the other night against eight persons, including relatives of the late mayor in the
Chief Insp. Cipriano Bazar Jr., acting head of Regional Tactical Operations Center, identified
those arrested as Melodia Malingin and Gaudencio Malingin, supporters of the Parojinog family, while
Maychell Parojinog Gumapac, Manuelito Francisco, Rizalina Francisco, June Francisco, Ricardo Parojinog
and Christopher Parojinog managed to escape during the operation.
Recovered from the houses of Melodia and Gaudencio were eight plastic bags containing white
crystalline substance believed to be shabu with estimated weight of eight kilos and a rolled aluminium
From the house of Maychell, the team recovered two plastic bags of suspected shabu weighing
two kilos, a steel vault, an air soft rifle and a long magazine.
The team also recovered an M4 boost master, three short M-16 magazines, a bandolier, 90 live
ammunition for M-16 rifle, two rifle grenade launcher, three live ammunition for M203 and 20 empty
cartridge for M-16 rifle from the house of Manuelito, Rizalina and June.
An M14 rifle, a steel short magazine, live ammunition for cal. 5.56 and a hand grenade were
recovered from the house of Ricardo and Christopher.
The operation was conducted based on search warrant issued by court against the Parojinogs.
