CABANATUAN City -- A suspected drug pusher eluded arrest while three others, including two minors, were nabbed by anti-narcotics police operatives during a buy-bust operation here that led to the seizure of about P.18-million dried marijuana yesterday morning.
Provincial police director Senior Supt. Antonio C. Yarra identified the drug suspect, who managed to escape, as Raymart Bacuna, of Bgy. Camp 7, Baguio City, and his arrested cohort as Nataniel Sy, 23, single, of 268 Purok 3, De Guzman Subd., Bgy. Bantug Norte, this city.
Two 17-year-olds, a boy and a girl, whose names were withheld for being minors, were also nabbed during the same anti-illegal drug operation at Bgy. Patalac at 3 a.m., said Supt. Ponciano P. Zafra, Cabanatuan City police chief.
Zafra said his men, led by Senior Insp. Randy P. Apolonio, set up the buy-bust that led to the confiscation of nine bundles of dried marijuana leaves and fruitings, weighing 7.2 kilos and approximately valued at P180,000.
He said criminal charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against them for filing before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
