TWO men, one of them only 16 years old, were mauled by an angry crowd who went after them after they
stole a motorcycle owned by a local government official in Quezon, Isabela, shortly before midnight
Saturday, police said.

Suspects Felix Bucad, 27, of Dananao Lacnog, Tabuk City, Kalinga, and the teenage out-of-
school youth from Agbannawag, Tabuk City were taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries they
got at the hands of local residents in Bgy. Arellano, Quezon town, at 11:40 p.m.
A Police Regional Office 2 report said the two helped each other steal the Honda XRM 125
motorcycle (6963 BQ) of Antonio Diampoc, 61, an incumbent Sangguniang Bayan member of Quezon, while it
was parked in front of the Josie’s Videoke Bar.
The local official was having beer with some friends when one of the suspects, who were also
inside the bar, pushed the motorbike in an attempt to steal it.
Unknown to them, the bar owner, Josie Cabanilla, saw them and asked for assistance from local
residents who beat the two before turning them over to responding police and barangay officials.
The two are facing criminal charges.
