CAMP Gen. Miguel Malvar, Batangas -- Two drug offenders were nabbed by authorities for possession of shabu and marijuana in Batangas City and Mabini town, provincial police PIO chief Senior Insp. Hazel P. Luma-ang said the other day.

Batangas City police commander Supt. Sancho O. Celedio identified the suspect as Marlon Hernandez Ramos, single, with live-in partner, unemployed, of Bgy. Dumuclay.

Celedio said a team led by Chief Insp. Arnold Bianzon implemented search warrant No.2018-26-BC issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 84 Judge Dorcas P. Ferriols-Perez dated Oct. 4, 2018 against the suspect for violation of Republic Act 9165 at his residence that led to the confiscation of seven plastic sachets of suspected shabu, a fully taped transparent plastic sachet containing suspected marijuana, a glass tube containing suspected marijuana, a black coin purse and a cigarette box.

The suspect is a newly-identified drug personality, whose illegal activities were reported by barangay residents, said Celedio.

Chief Insp. Allan Nidua, Mabini police chief, said Edgar Garong Castillo, a newly-identified drug personality, was arrested in a buy-bust by his men at 10:40 a.m. the other day in Bgy. Calamias for possession of suspected shabu and marked money.

Nidua said the arrested suspect had a live-in partner residing in the same village. According to him, every time he visits her, he brings illegal drugs with him and sell them to his customers, who are mostly young people.

With his immediate arrest, the proliferation of illegal drugs at the said barangays will stop, the local police chief added.
