2 held for P260-K shabu in San Pablo

Combined operatives of the Laguna Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) and Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) nabbed a couple for possession of illegal drugs in buy-bust operation in Lynderson Arcade, Bgy. San Roque, San Pablo City, Laguna, on Sunday.

Calabarzon police director Chief Supt. Edward Carranza identified the suspects as Naila Lawi-Marangit, 36, and Jamael Maranguit, both of Bgy. San Nicolas, Plaridel, Bulacan.

The DEU and the PIB  team led by Chief Insp. Ryan Jay Eliab Orapa conducted anti-illegal drug operation and arrested the suspect at Lynderson Arcade, Bgy San Roque.

During the operation, the suspects conspired to sell a bulk of medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P4,000 in marked money that led  to  the suspects’ arrest.

Confiscated from Lawi-Marangi were a sling bag containing four medium  plastic sachets of suspected shabu, P4,000 in marked money and P5,000  suspected profit in drug money in different denominations.

On the other hand, Maranguit yielded a sunglass case which contained eight bulks/pieces medium transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and a Toyota Innova (UZQ 924).

The recovered shabu  totalling 13 bulks with an estimated weight of 55 grams had an estimated street value of P260,000.

The suspects and the pieces of evidence were brought to Provincial Crime Laboratory Office (PCLO) 4A at Camp Paciano, Bgy. Bagumbayan, Sta. Cruz, Laguna for drug testing and laboratory examination.         Charges for violation of Secs. 5, 11 and 26 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) will be filed against the suspects before the Prosecutor’s Office.
