2 drug surrenderers shot dead in Batangas, Calamba

TWO drug surrenderers were killed in separate gun attacks in Batangas and Calamba City in Laguna, police reported yesterday.

In Batangas, Ruelito delos Reyes, 35, was shot dead by an unidentified suspect while driving a motorcycle in Bgy. Binubusan, Lian town, on Tuesday. He died from several bullet wounds in the head, police said.

Barangay Chairman Cresencio Dalanon reported the shooting incident to the police at 4:15 p.m.

A team, led by SPO1s  Primitivo  Macalindong  Dayandayan and Elmer Magana, was dispatched to the scene.

The investigations said that on October 9 at 4:10 p.m., the victim was driving a Yamaha Mio motorcycle towards Binubusan Elementary School to fetch his child.

Upon reaching Bgy. Binubusan, an unidentified gunman onboard an unknown type of vehicle driven by the unidentified cohort, shot the victim in the head several times.

The victim was rushed by local residents to Apacible Memorial District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dra. Gilma Arcales.
A fired cartridge casing for cal. .45 recovered at the crime scene was turned over to responding Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) personnel.
The victim’s body now lies at the hospital morgue.
In Calamba City, a former drug surrenderer was shot dead by unidentified armed suspects in front of the house of a barangay official in Kapayapaan Village, Bgy. Canlubang, on Wednesday night.
Supt. Sancho Celedio, Calamba City police chief, said the slain victim, identified as Elvis Hernandez Hosena, single, of Purok 3 Asia 2, Bgy. Canlubang, Calamba City, died on the spot from a gunshot wound in the head.

Hosena, according to Celedio, was a former drug surrenderer under police’s Oplan Tokhang on September 1, 2016.
