CABANATUAN City -- Two suspected drug pushers were killed in separate armed encounters with undercover drug operatives here and in Talavera town last Monday.

In this city, killed was Sherwin Saclolo, alias Diket, of Bgy. Imelda.

Supt. Ponciano Zafra, city police commander, said the suspect, who was included on the police’s watchlist of drug personalities, negotiated for drugs with operatives led by Chief Insp. Jaime Ferrer when he sensed that he was dealing with an undercover policeman in Purok 2, Bgy. Sta. Arcadia at 9:40 p.m.

The suspect drew his cal. .38 and fired at the operative, forcing the lawman to fire back, killing the former.

Recovered from the slain suspect were eight plastic sachets containing shabu, his revolver with four bullets and two fired bullets and P500 in marked money.

In Talavera, Supt. Joe Neil Rojo, town police chief, said an armed encounter transpired at 4:20 a.m. in the Bypass Road of Bgy. Calipahan.

Killed during the clash was tricycle driver Pablito Sison Jr., of Bgy. Calipahan.

Rojo said anti-drug operatives were able to purchase P500 worth of shabu from the suspect when the latter immediately ran towards the road shoulder and fired his gun at the lawman, triggering a brief firefight which resulted in the suspect’s death.

Probers recovered at the scene three plastic sachets with shabu, the P500 marked money, the suspect’s cal. 38 loaded with three bullets and two fired ones, his blue Kawasaki Bajaj tricycle and four spent shells for cal. 9mm.
