2 drug dealers yield grenade in Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao

TWO suspected drug dealers in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao were arrested by the local police in separate operations this week, ARMM police director Chief Superintendent Graciano J. Mijares said yesterday.

One of the suspects identified as Mangerin Esmael Macot “alias Moka,” 36, was arrested in his house in Barangay Calaan in Buldon, Maguindanao during a raid Friday morning.     

The raiding team, armed with a search warrant issued by Cotabato City Regional Trial Court Branch 13  Judge Bansawan Ibrahim, confiscated seven plastic sachets of shabu and a hand grenade. He is now detained at the Buldon municipal police.

In Bongao, Tawi-Tawi,local police nabbed Jaime Alibasa after he sold shabu to an undercover officer in Suwa-Suwa, Tubi Mampalam area around 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

Recovered from the suspect’s possession were 12 plastic sachets of shabu and the marked money he received from an undercover officer.

The two suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 9156 or illegal possession of explosives.
