2 drug dealers killed, 13 held in Bulacan anti-drug ops

TWO heavily-armed suspected drug dealers in Bulacan were killed in separate gunbattles with local policemen over the weekend, Bulacan Police Provincial Office director Senior Supt. Romeo M. Caramat Jr. announced yesterday.

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Chief Supt. Aaron N. Aquino, the official said that 13 other known drug traffickers in the province were also arrested in a string of buy-bust operations last Friday and Saturday.
Caramat said one of the slain suspects, identified only as alias ‘Roman/Bebe,’ a man included in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) watchlist of Bgy. Malhacan, Meycauayan City, was killed while trading shots with undercover officers at 2 a.m. Saturday.
Seized from the suspect’s possession were a loaded caliber .38 revolver, a fragmentation grenade, several heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and the marked money paid to him by a poseur.
The second suspect, identified as Benjie Pacomo, alias ‘Benjie,’ a newly-identified drug personality in Bgy. FVR, Norzagaray municipality, was killed in a firefight with members of the Norzagaray Drug Enforcement Unit shortly before midnight Friday.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession were a cal. .38 revolver, several sachets of shabu, the marked money he received from an undercover agent and a mobile phone. Caramat said Pacomo, of Block 10, Lot 37, Phase 1, Bgy. FVR,  is also included in the BADAC watchlist of the Norzagaray Municipal Police Station.    
The official said 13 other known drug dealers in the province were arrested in separate anti-narcotics operations over the past three days in San Jose del Monte City and the towns of San Rafael, Paombong, Bustos, Norzagaray, Bulakan, Baliwag and Balagtas.
Recovered from the suspects were 28 sachets of shabu, ultra-violet powder-duster bills they received from poseurs and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Caramat identified the arrested suspects as Mark Bryan Reyes, alias ‘Bokbok Capino,’ Joel Baltazar, Jonathan Ramos, Joel Cruz, Joey Diwa, alias ‘Calvo Bantillal’; John Patrick Rayo, alias ‘Usit Lopez’; Jojo Iliw-Iliw, alias ‘Udon’; Manolito Villanueva, Arnold Sulit, Paul Jhon Angeles, Marilou Bigornia and Enmark Mirano alias ‘Brando/Bong Surio.’
He said Reyes, Baltazar and Ramos are all included in their respective BADAC’s watchlists of suspected drug personalities.
All suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
