2 drug dealers fall, P6M shabu seized in Cebu

AGENTS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency last Sunday conducted a buy-bust operation in Cebu City which resulted in the arrest of two armed drug personalities and the seizure of over P6 million worth of shabu, PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña announced yesterday.

The official identified the arrested suspects as Roy Estrera, 38; and Erwin Anthony Abellana, 40.
He said the two were arrested by members of the PDEA Regional Office 7 under Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz shortly after they conspired to sell six plastic packets containing around 600 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ valued at P6.4 million to an undercover officer in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City.
Apart from the drugs, officers also recovered two caliber .45 pistols with several live ammunition, four  cal. 40mm rifle grenades, one Ingram 9mm machine pistol and a 9mm magazine with five live ammunition.
The PDEA Region 7 said the group of Estrera and Abellana is operating in Cebu City and could dispose around five kilos of shabu per week.
The suspects are now facing non-bailable charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013.
