CABANATUAN City -- A videoke bar operator and a livestock owner were arrested in separate anti-drug police operations in Nueva Ecija last Tuesday and Wednesday.
In Carranglan town, police nabbed Joey Rellegue, 49, videoke bar owner, of Julia St., Bgy. Abar 1st, San Jose City, for allegedly selling illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation along the national highway in Bgy. Piut at 10 p.m.
Carranglan police chief Senior Insp. Robert de Guzman said the suspect was arrested after selling two sachets of shabu worth P500 to a police poseur-buyer.
He said the operation was conducted after receiving information from a police asset that illegal drug trade was said to be monitored in the area involving the arrested suspect.
In Quezon town, police led by Senior Insp. Rommel M. Zagala, arrested businessman Rainier Liberato, 30, livestock owner, of Purok 1, Bgy. Bertese, after a raid on his house last Wednesday at 7 a.m. yielded illegal drugs and some residues contained in several plastic sachets.
Zagala said the drug sting was carried out by virtue of a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Celso O. Baguio, of the Gapan City Regional Trial Court Branch 34.
Seized during the search operation were four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, four plastic sachets containing shabu residue and drug paraphernalia.
Separate charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 were filed against the two suspects before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Cabanatuan City.
