2 arrested for drugs in Biñan

Operatives of the Drugs Enforcement Unit arrested two drugs personalities during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Lawa, Bgy, Canlalay, Biñan City, Laguna, on Thursday morning.

Laguna police director Senior Supt. Kirby John Brion Kraft identified the suspects as Oswaldo Espejo, 57, carpenter, of Sitio Almazora; and Maria Teresa Nicole, 39, of Sitio Lawa, both in this city.

The DEU operatives, led by PO3 Robert A. Torregorsa and under the direct supervision of Supt. Ronan Claravall, conducted a buy-bust operation at about 5:40 a.m. in Sitio Lawa, Bgy Canlalay.

During the police operation, a police poseur-buyer, with the assistance of a confidential informant, was able to buy a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu from Oswald Espejo Aducal thru  Maria Teresa Nicole Bael in exchange for P500 marked bill that resulted in their immediate arrest.

Recovered from their possession were four transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, the marked P500 bill, and a P1,000 bill in drug proceeds.

The suspects and the confiscated illegal drugs with a total estimated weight of 2.0 grams worth an estimated value of P8,000 were brought to Provincial Crime Laboratory Office in Sta. Cruz, Laguna for drug test and laboratory examination.

Cases for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) will be filed against the susects.
