THREE known drug dealers in Visayas region are now in jail while 11 other drug offenders were arrested and hauled to jail in Bulacan, officials reported yesterday.
The three drug dealers were arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in separate recent anti-narcotics operations, PDEA chair Director General Aaron N. Aquino said yesterday.
Two of the suspects, identified as Mimbilus Acampado, 44, and his brother Christian, 20, were arrested while conspiring to sell shabu to an undercover officer of the PDEA Regional Office 7 in Colon St., Bgy. Parian, Cebu City, last Thursday.
Seized from the suspects were two heat-sealed plastic sachets containing about 70 grams of suspected shabu worth P350,000 and the marked money they received from the poseur.
The duo are facing non-bailable charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), and Section 26 (conspiracy to sell), Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Aquino.
In Negros Oriental, PDEA Region 7 officers arrested 50-year-old Howard Cabano during a raid on the suspect’s residence in Bgy. Banilad, Bacong municipality which led to the seizure of some 25 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ valued at P125,000 and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Cabano has been charged for violation of Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) and Section 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia) of RA 9165.
