GOVERNMENT forces recovered a kidnap victim who was released by his captors shortly after he allegedly paid ransom money the other night in Jolo, Sulu.

The victim was identified as Rufo Roda, who was abducted with his wife last August 31 at Piakan, Sira-wai, Zamnoanga del Norte.

Reports reaching Camp Aguinaldo said the victim was recovered at 7:30 p.m. by combined elements of Joint Task Force Sulu, 101 Brigade, MIG 26 and MIG 9 in downtown Jolo.

Records showed that the victim was delivered by an unidentified person through negotiation spearheaded by a certain Al from Jolo.

Allegedly, ransom amounting to P1.2 million was paid in exchange for the couple but only Mr. Roda was released.

The victim was escorted by MIG 9 men to Zamboanga City for custodial debriefing and proper disposition.
