2 elderly Filipinos die in California car crash

Two Filipinos both in their 60, were killed in a highway car crash in Palmdale, California on Saturday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said yesterday.

The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles said it is coordinating with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office which is expected to release details of the crash that killed the two women.

In his report to Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano, Consul Genera Adel Angelito Cruz said the two were killed after the vehicle they were in crashed into a construction truck on 14 Freeway near Palmdale Boulevard early Saturday morning.

Cruz said the Consulate General is ready to extend the necessary assistance to the families of the victims.
