UNITED States President Donald Trump left the Philippines yesterday, skipping an annual East Asia Summit due to delays in the schedule of the program of meetings.
Trump boarded Air Force One and told the reporters that he delivered his prepared remarks during a lunch with the leaders instead.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was on hand for Tuesday’s summit in Trump’s place, a senior White House official said, adding the event was running too late.
The meetings in Manila were approximately 90 minutes behind schedule.
Reports said that Trump left at 3:18 p.m. via the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and was headed to Hawaii.

The meeting was supposed to start at 1:30 p.m. while Trump was scheduled to leave at 3 p.m.
