Solon asks court to cite judge in contempt

October 28, 2018

A HOUSE leader has asked the Court of Appeals (CA) to cite the judge of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 4 Parang, Sulu in contempt of court together with three officials of Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Region 9.

In a petition filed Friday, Deputy Speaker and Sulu Rep. Munir Arbison said Judge Grace C. Tillah-Alasco allegedly openly disregarded, disobeyed and made a mockery of the writs and processes of the CA when it kept re-issuing the same order subject of the injunction from the CA.

Also subject of Arbison’s petition are PNP CIDG chief Director Roel B. Obusan of CIDG-Region 9, officer-in-charge Supt. Richard B. Vercelez, and Sulu Provincial Police Office director Supt. Pablo G. Labra II.

He said Tillah-Alasco could not feign ignorance of the CA’s order for her to “cease and desist” from implementing her September 4, 2018 order for his arrest.
