MALACAÑANG yesterday insisted that the controversial P7-billion  Rosenbauer fire truck deal that cost former DILG chief Mike Sueno his job  is still a go in the absence of a temporary restraining order (TRO) that prevents its implementation.

“The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) firetruck deal will proceed. It is a perfected contract and there is no temporary restraining order that prevents its implementation,” Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said in a statement to Palace reporters yesterday.

Sueno was fired amid a row with his three undersecretaries in the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) over the right to sign contracts and promotions and particularly over alleged irregularity in the purchase of fire trucks from Austria.
