ACCUSED former Budget Undersecretary Mario Relampagos is now considered a fugitive.
The Sandiganbayan yesterday ordered the arrest of Relampagos after he failed to return from his trip to the United States.
The Seventh Division of the anti-graft court allowed Relampagos to travel out of the country from December 2, 2017 to January 1, 2018.
However, Relampagos has yet to report to the Sandiganbayan.
Likewise, the Sandiganbayan ordered the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to immediately cancel the passport of Relampagos.
Relampagos is facing several counts of graft charges due to his alleged involvement in the pork barrel fund scam. He is a co-accused of Janet Lim-Napoles and former senators in the graft charges.
The anti-graft court already directed the state prosecutors to initiate extradition proceedings against Relampagos.
