THE Sandiganbayan Fifth Division has granted former Senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada’s request for a
six-day family bonding in Hong Kong this Christmas.
Estrada will be spending the holidays in Hong Kong with his wife Precy and their children
Janella, Jolo, Julian, and Jill for his long desired “family bonding and holiday trip” from December
26 to 31.
“Very, very thankful at grateful to the members of the court for granting my (request), parang
Christmas vacation with my family. Malaking bagay ‘yun sa aking pamilya lalung-lalo na sa aking mga
anak na makasama ako sa ibang bansa,” Estrada said.
“Ito ang unang pagkakataon na makakasama ko ang aking pamilya abroad,” added Estrada.
The next hearing of his cases was scheduled on January 8, 2018.
Estrada sought the permission from the Sandiganbayan for the Hong Kong trip a few weeks after
returning from Singapore.
He posted a P2.6-million travel bond for the Singapore trip where he accompanied his father,
former president and Manila City Mayor Joseph Estrada, for a medical check-up.
The former senator vowed to abide by the conditions of the Sandiganbayan for the Hong Kong
Estrada is facing plunder and 11 counts of graft for allegedly pocketing P183.79 million worth
of kickbacks by allotting his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel to fake non-
government organizations allegedly owned by detained businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles.
