IT appears all is not well in their family but Senator Nancy Binay said the Binay clan is trying to resolve the differences between her sister, re-electionist Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, and brother Junjun Binay who are set to face each other in the coming 2019 midterm elections.
Binay said that their family will remain a family no matter what happens in the elections. Though both her siblings expressed their intention to run as mayor of Makati which has been under the political control of their family since 1986, she said “nothing is yet set in stone.”
“Ang position ko is hindi pa naman pareho nagpa-file. Sakin, siguro it’s worth one more try. Subukan namin one last chance para ayusin nga itong nagbabadyang problema, so ang position ko munang mag-meeting ulit kami bilang pag-usapan at hanapan ng solution, if ever,” Binay said in an interview with DWIZ.
“I am not losing that hope na hindi pa rin maglalaban ‘yung mga kapatid ko,” she added. “But I guess I just have to prepare for whatever scenario.”
Nancy, the eldest of the three, was the first Binay to cast her certificate of candidacy last week for reelection to the Senate.
“Para sakin, kung anu man ‘yung mapagdesisyonan ‘yun ang mangyayari bukas. Basta ako, after May 13, 2019, magkakapamilya parin kami,” she stressed.
Candidates can file their COCs until the deadline on Wednesday, October 17.
