PRESIDENTIAL spokesperson and Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo yesterday clarified that the Presidential Communications and Operations Office with Secretary Martin Andanar as head remains in place until the Office of the Press Secretary has been established.
“I think until such time as the OPS (Office of the Press Secretary) is created, the PCOO with him (Martin Andanar) at the helm is still operational as an entity,” Panelo said in a message sent to reporters.
Panelo was named presidential spokesman with the expected senatorial candidacy of Secretary Harry Roque.
President Rodrigo Duterte earlier said he was considering Panelo to head the soon-to-be revived Office of the Press Secretary, a move that will cause the abolition of the PCOO.
Andanar is likely to be named Presidential Adviser for Political Affairs.
