SENATOR Panfilo “Ping” Lacson on Saturday asked the Duterte administration to swiftly act on the Commission on Audit (COA) reports of corruption by government officials.
Lacson said if the administration is really bent on ridding the bureaucracy of corrupt officials, it should act and use the reports of COA in going after people behind scrupulous transactions in the government.
In his tweet in social media platform Twitter, Lacson told the government that they can use the reports of COA as basis in their investigation and filing cases.
“Any administration that says it is serious in fighting corruption must treat an adverse COA report as a good initial source of motive power to take positive action,” Lacson tweeted.
The latest report released by COA was the red flag they raised on the Presidential Communications and Operations Office (PCOO) regarding the alleged excessive spending they committed during the ASEAN Summit last year.
Lacson further said that ignoring the reports of COA will result in the people doubting the administration’s commitment to getting rid of graft and corruption in the government.
“Ignoring the report is to pay lip service,” insisted Lacson.
