THE House committee on appropriations yesterday approved the P1.16 billion supplemental budget to be used for the medical needs of children administered with the Dengvaxia vaccine.

At the continuation of the public hearing on the Dengvaxia issue, the Department of Health (DoH) submitted a revised proposal with a higher allocation for the medical assistance program.

Last week the chairman of the committee, Davao City Rep. Karlo Alexei Nograles, and other lawmakers rejected the first proposal of the DoH on the allocation of P1.16 billion funds.

The amount was the refund from  French pharmaceutical company and Dengvaxia manufacturer Sanofi Pasteur to the government through its local distributor Zuellig Pharma.
