National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) has recommended to President Rodrigo Duterte the promotion of Police Director Camilo Pancratius P. Cascolan, the current acting chief of the Directorial Staff of the Philippine National Police.
In an en banc resolution, the NAPOLCOM endorsed to the Office of the President the promotion to Police Deputy Director General (equivalent to a three-star rank of the military) of Cascolan, now the country’s number four police officer.
Cascolan was conferred with the Police Executive Service Eligibility (PESE) by the police commission through Resolution 2006-344.
NAPOLCOM vice chairman and executive officer Atty. Rogelio T. Casurao said Cascolan’s promotion to three-star rank was also based on a recommendation from PNP Director General Oscar Albayalde.
In giving Cascolan the green light, Albayalde certified him to have met all the requirements for promotion to a three-star rank.
Cascolan was barely one and a half months into his post as the Regional Director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) when he was ordered on June 1, 2018 to head the PNP Civil Security Group in Camp Crame, which handles the licensing of security agencies.
After three months, he moved up to the No. 4 post in the PNP when he was named acting chief of the Directorial Staff on September 1.
Upon approval of the NAPOLCOM’s recommendation by the President, Cascolan will become a full-fledged three-star police general.
