CITIZENS Battle Against Corruption (CIBAC) Party-List filed Wednesday its Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) and fielded Bro. Eddie Villanueva, leader of the Jesus Is Lord (JIL) Church Worldwide, as its first nominee.

CIBAC Rep. Sherwin Tugna, a member of the Philippine Constitution Association (Philconsa) led by Atty. Martin Romualdez as president, said his group, a multi-sectoral organization dedicated to fighting graft and corruption in government, has fielded five nominees from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

In a short speech before their supporters gathered in front of Plaza Mexico, Tugna, who chairs the House Committee on Suffrage and Electoral Reforms, gave assurances that CIBAC, through its nominees, will continue to play an active role in legislating good governance and anti-corruption measures in the House of Representatives.

For his part, Villanueva vowed to continue CIBAC’s advocacy of fighting corruption.

CIBAC will continue to be the fiscalizer of the government,” Villanueva emphasized.
