Worker stabbed dead

A 21-year-old construction worker was stabbed dead while walking on New Pana-deros Street in Punta, Sta. Ana, Manila.

Victim Antero Trani Hidalgo Jr., of 2459 Decena St., Pasay City, died from a stab wound in the chest.

SPO4 Glenzor Vallejo of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said the incident happened at 12:30 a.m. in front of Petron gas station on New Panaderos.

Investigators said the victim was with fellow worker Dennis Beltran, 21, going back to their barracks after a drinking spree.

Beltran said the suspect suddenly appeared and attacked the victim.

The suspect hurriedly boarded a jeepney and when Beltran looked for the victim, he found him lying on the ground with a stab wound in the chest.
Beltran took the victim to the hospital to no avail.
