POLICE are eyeing personal grudge as possible motive in the murder of a construction worker before dawn yesterday  in Navotas City.

Edfilo Francisco Jr., 33, of 104 Bagong Kalsada St., Bgy. Tangos South, succumbed to bullet wounds in the body while being rushed to Navotas City Hospital.

Newly-installed Navotas police chief Senior Supt. Ramchrisen Haveria Jr. ordered a manhunt against the suspect, identified as Hogan Garcia, of Pantalan Lino, Bgy. Tangos, who fled on foot after the killing.

Investigation showed that while the victim and his friends were having a drinking spree in M. Ablola Bagong Kalsada St., Bgy. Tangos South, the suspect, who was armed with unknown caliber of firearm, appeared at around 1:20 a.m. and shot Francisco repeatedly in the body in front of his drinking buddies.

Not contented, the suspect struck Francisco’s face with a big rock before fleeing.

Witness told homicide investigators that the victim and the suspect had a long standing grudge and were recently engaged in a heated argument.
