A construction worker died after he fell from the rooftop of an under-construction building before dawn yesterday in Pasay City.
Christopher Valleser, 47, of 1020 Alahambra St., Mabini, Manila, landed hard on the cemented pavement and died on the spot due to severe head injury.
Pasay police homicide investigator SPO3 Giovanni Arcinue said the incident happened at 12:20 a.m. at under-construction building on 12th St., Bgy. 183, Villamor.
Prior to the incident, Valleser and his co-worker, Nico Vidal, were engaged in a drinking session and after consuming several bottles of liquor, they decided to sleep past 8 p.m.
Vidal said Valleser went to sleep at the rooftop of the three-storey under construction building owned by Zaldy Sison and left him at the third floor where they usually slept.
“Baka na-alimpungatan siya at dahil sa kalasingan, hindi namalayan na nasa rooftop pala siya na walang harang kaya nahulog,” Vidal told police.
Vidal said he only learned of the tragic incident when he was awakened by his co-worker.
Investigators found no foul play in the incident. The victim’s body was moved to Rizal Funeral Homes for autopsy examination.
