A 24-year-old woman lost her right arm after it got caught at the MRT train couplar at 2:30 p.m.
yesterday at the Ayala Station in Makati City.

Transportation Undersecretary Cesar Chavez said a report he received from Raffy Robles, MRT
Station supervisor, identified the victim as Angeline Fernando.
Chavez said that based on the CCTV footage, Fernando, who was waiting for a ride, fainted
apparently due to dizziness and fell from the platform.
He added that Fernando’s right arm got caught at the MRT train couplar connecting the train
coaches, severing it from her body. He said Fernando was rushed to Makati Medical Center.
The incident resulted in the delay of MRT operation which resumed normal operation at 4 p.m.
Last week, Julieto Eco, of Tanza, Cavite, also suffered severe injuries in the head when he
was dragged by a Light Rail Transit coach.
Report said Eco’s right foot, which he used to try to stop the train door from closing, got
caught and stuck at the door, dragging him down and causing his head to bounce off the floor at the
platform several times.
