Twin fires displace 200 families in Manila

SOME 200 families lost their homes in two separate fire incidents in Pasig Line, Sta. Ana, and Sampaloc, both in Manila.

Senior Insp. Reden Alumno, chief of Investigation and Intelligence Section of the Manila Fire Department, said the fire in Pasig Line began at a two-storey home.

Probers said an electric spark was seen before the fire struck at 11:22 a.m. and ended at 12:23 p.m.

Meanwhile, 180 families lost their homes when fire hit a house at the corner of Mendoza and Ma. Clara Streets in Sampaloc, Manila.

Chief Insp. Crossib Cante, chief of the Bureau of Fire Protection-Manila for Operation, said the fire hit at 7 p.m. and was contained at 10:26 p.m.

No one was reported killed or injured in both incidents.
