Triker killed, brod hurt by RIT gunmen

A 19-year-old tricycle driver died while his brother was critically wounded when unidentified armed
men riding tandem on a motorcycle peppered them with bullets Tuesday night in Caloocan City.

Agapito Tubal succumbed to bullet wounds in the body while his 18-year-old brother Ama, both
of Phase 2, Package 2, Block 53, Lot 78, Bgy. 176, Bagong Silang, was in critical condition at Dr.
Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital.
    
Caloocan police homicide investigator PO1 Dondon Soriano said the victims were in front of
Migz & Ella Store in Phase 1, Package 4, Block 26, and buying food for their dinner at 9:20 p.m.
when riding-in-tandem criminals stopped beside the store and shot the siblings repeatedly in their
bodies.
    
The suspects sped away after the killing, leaving the bloodied victims slumped on the
pavement.
    
Responding elements of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered several empty
shells and slugs for unknown calibre of firearm which will be submitted to PNP Crime Laboratory for
ballistic examination.
    
Operatives of Caloocan Police Community Precinct (PCP) 3, together with barangay officials,
conducted a follow-up operation but failed to identify and arrest the suspects.
    
Caloocan police deputy chief for administration Supt. Ferdinand del Rosario said the motive
behind the incident is still being determined.
